Lit Round-up

Final four, Tolkien, Khaled Hosseini and more

The "All Time and Best of 2006 Tournament" of Fantasy Book Spot has reached the final four stage. It is going to be The Road by Cormac McCarthy vs. The Thousandfold Thought by R. Scott Bakker and The Oracle’s Queen by Cinda…Lynn Flewelling VS. Kafka in Bronteland by Tamar Yellin for 2006 and The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien VS. Gormenghast by Mervyn Peake and The Sandman by Neil Gaiman VS. A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin for all time title.

Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" takes home the top prize in TMN's Tournament of Books, the book cover for the last Harry Potter, " Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" is out and Khaled Hosseini's follow-up to Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns will be out in May 2007. Of course how can we forget the news that "The Children of Hurin", J R R Tolkien's first complete book "The Silmarillion" will be released to the British readers on April 17th.
