Kurt Vonnegut died on 11th April at the age of 84. Coverage, as expected, in several media outlets including New York Times (1), New York Times (2), Forbes, LA Times, Salon and others. Dan Rhodes, the author of "Anthropology" and "Timoleon Vieta Come Home" picks his list of top 10 short books. The top book is "The Sorrows of Young Werther" by Goethe. 125 British and American writers were asked to "provide a list, ranked, in order, of what you consider the ten greatest works of fiction of all time." Washington Post published the top 10 in the list. In another "top-X list", Waterstone polled 5,000 employees for their favourite five books written since 1982 and the top-100 list is out.
The Judges’ List of Contenders for the second Man Booker International Prize has been announced. Philip Roth, Salman Rushdie, Margaret Atwood and 13 others have made it to the list. BBC Four Samuel Johnson Longlist for 2007 has also been announced.
